  • What not to do when starting a niche affiliate site

    Hi everyone,

I’m looking to start a niche affiliate site and know I’m going to make some mistakes along the way.

I know there’s a lot of work ahead to make it happen, but the reward of a potential 24/7 money-making machine will be worth it!

What mistakes did you make in starting out that you’d avoid if you did it all again?

The number one mistake I’ve seen people make is get stuck picking a niche. Don’t look for what’s perfect, instead pick what you’re interested in. Sure, there are some evergreen niches, but they’re hypercompetitive. You can make money in anything, so instead pick what you’re most interested in.

It’s mostly about whether you’re willing to put in the effort.

This is true. Pick what interests you, or you’re not going to stick to it.

Don’t spend too much time on the design, throw something up and then focus on the marketing. Then use AB testing to perfect your design once you have traffic to test on.

Sure, making something pretty is fun, but it’s not what’s important here. If you don’t have traffic, you don’t have anything.

Agreed. Designs and logos are fun, but it’s the traffic that’s going to make you money ?
