I have started using YouTube as a marketing channel, and am trying to increase my rankings in the search.
I know how to optimize rankings with keywords, etc, but what is the best way to get good backlinks for your videos?
How useful are backlinks for YouTube rankings compared to Google Search?
What methods are you all using to get backlinks for your videos?

Backlinks help, but it’s really more about the content of your videos. It’s all about watch time.
Do keyword research to determine the best video titles as well as what’s searched for on YouTube.
Make better thumbnails to get more clicks and increase your rankings that way.
If you have a good following on other social channels, share your videos there. You’ll get views and get increased in ranking.

Backlinks aren’t really the basis to get your videos ranked on YouTube. It’s more the views and the engagement. Create informative, valuable and unique content that addresses your audience needs, and then just cover the basics:
– Channel keywords
– Video title
– Video description
– Video tags
