  • Baker using social media to grow my online baking business

    Hello everyone,

I’m a baker that has recently gone from working for a pay check to running my own successful online bakery!

I feel I may have some knowledge to share with the journey I’ve been on. So ask me anything and I’ll try to help where I can 🙂
I get most of my traffic through optimized local SEO and paid search, and also through Facebook and Pinterest. I’m currently trying to grow a Twitter and Instagram following.

Do you used paid social media or is it mostly organic?

All organic. I make my creations beautiful and it’s content that is naturally shareable 🙂

I started out by sharing with friends and family and asking them to share, and it grew from there 🙂

What struggles did you come across setting up your bakery? Did you work and build your business at the same time? Or go all-in?

I worked and built my business at the same time. I couldn’t take the risk of not having steady income, and I was in no rush.

My biggest struggling was finding clients. I make a great product, but it doesn’t matter if you have no one to sell it too. Learning how to make search work really saved my business, and afterward, growing my social media gives me steady business as well, without the ad cost.
